We are a community gardening club with monthly meetings held from 10 am to 12 noon usually on a Friday at Saxon Hall, Hoarwithy Road, Putson, Hereford, HR2 6HE. Our next meeting will be the AGM on Friday 31 July 2015 at 10 am at Saxon Hall. For more information contact Lucy Walden on 01432 507483.
Anyone can come along to the meetings and get involved. Our members range from novice gardeners to master composters and we aim to learn from one another and from regular speakers on gardening topics. Other activities include visits to gardens, seed and plant swaps and our community garden projects. We are involved in creating and maintaining community plots at Newton Farm, Hereford, which we have entered into the Hereford in Bloom festival.
We have an ongoing partnership with the Saxon Hall Community Garden at Putson to provide support and planning advice. If you prefer outdoor hands-on activity then our Saxon Hall volunteers meet during the warmer weather every Wednesday from 4.30pm to 5.30pm and on Friday mornings from 11am to midday for work on the Community Garden project. Come along and see the plans - bring a fork or spade, gardening gloves and sturdy foodwear. Coffee/tea and/or a snack is provided and it is a sociable enthusiastic group who will give you a warm welcome.
Subscriptions are £10 per year, 20p for coffee/tea, and we have a monthly raffle.
